Burn, Witch, Burn (Sidney Hayers, 1962)
The body does whatever it wants. I am not my body; I am my mind.

what’s really sad to me is that while women were often the writers and tellers of fairytales, almost all of classic European fairytale academia is dominated by men: the Brothers Grimm, Antti Aarne and Stith Thompson, Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, Andrew Lang, Jón Árnason, Alexander Afanasyev— fairytales are fundamentally women’s stories, but it’s men who were their collectors, and men who had the final say when these stories appeared in print.

Going in vs. coming out. Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. The start of an adventure and the long silence on the way home. The emptiness of the city and the fullness of the forest.
I need out again.
